To create a visual tour of the relaunched Tonero forklift truck for Toyota through 3D animation. The video was to be part of a larger product launch for Toyota Material Handling Europe. The video needed to work across multiple territories, allowing for easy translation.
As the Tonero was already a well known product, this relaunch gave us an opportunity to show the product in new light. Through presenting the truck as a silhouetted, a shadowy and mysterious product, we wanted to show to the viewer that something new was coming from something familiar. Our animation took the viewer through different application environments, all with the colour focused on the striking Tonero itself. Our creative approach also incorporated x-ray animation to be able to view the inner workings of the truck.
After receiving the design team CAD models from Toyota, we developed these into photo-realistic models for use in both animation, but also realistic pack-shot photography for brochures and web. Our animation team developed an early animatic and previsualisation for the client to review, then moving into 3D animation and compositing. The process involved TMHE at key review stages, without overloading them with technical detail.
