Job Title: Motion Graphics Designer

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Role Summary

Fat Free write and direct remarkable films for brands and agencies. As we grow our profile and our client base, we’re looking for exceptionally talented creatives to join the team. As a team we live and breathe video, storytelling, animation and visual effects. You’ll be working collaboratively with others in an inclusive, passionate and creatively motivated environment, producing content for digital, advertising campaigns and social for our clients.

We are looking to recruit for a talented Motion Graphics Designer to join our team. Talent, passions and skillset is more important to us than years of experience, so we’re happy to consider applications from artists with a range of experience levels. This is a role that will provide a lot of challenges, growth and development, and we’re looking for someone who will thrive on becoming a better artist today than they were yesterday.   

Your role will include:

Your background:

  • Ideally, 3 years experience working in a similar role (but talent is more important than experience)
  • Experience working within a design studio or creative agency 
  • Previous experience working within branded content and advertising
  • Advanced use of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere Pro
  • A solid understanding of design theory, typography and art direction
  • Advanced working knowledge of industry renowned plugins
  • Excellent skills within character design, rigging and animation
  • Ability to design, develop and optimise visual assets for animation
  • Experience working within 2D and VFX pipelines
  • Strong experience with hand-drawn and cel animation
  • Excellent ability to work from a client brief and within brand guidelines
  • Strong skills within compositing and finishing, including rotoscoping
  • Outstanding organisational skills and project housekeeping
  • Good communication skills (written & verbal)
  • An ability to produce storyboards and style frames

Nice to haves:

  • Experience working with motion tracking workflows
  • Basic knowledge of Cinema 4D
  • Basic knowledge of Fusion, Syntheyes & Element 3D
  • An awareness of Octane & Redshift renderers
  • Experience working with hand-drawn animation
